68th Annual National Day of Prayer

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – A national movement bringing churches and Americans together through one prayer.
The 68th annual National Day of Prayer takes place tomorrow. National Day of Prayer occurs every first Thursday in May, and the purpose is to mobilize unified
public prayer for the country. New Hope Gospel Church in Zanesville
will be recognizing the day by inviting the community, local churches,
leaders in local government, and even State senators to come together in
prayer.
“It’s supposed to be a day that our nation comes together and prays.
And it’s also supposed to be called a day of humiliation, which means
you humble yourself before almighty God, and we’re trying to keep that
tradition going,” said Pastor of New Hope Gospel Church, Joe DiVincenzo.
DiVincenzo also mentioned that prayers will be said for the government, schools, first responders, and the entire community.
“We’re going to pray for our church and communities that they wake up
spiritually and they do what God’s called us to do. So that’s the
agenda for tomorrow, and I do hope that people will pack the place out,” he said.
Everyone is welcome for the evening prayer Thursday night at 7pm, at the New Hope Gospel Church on East Pike.
