I-70 WB closed at Airport Road due to multiple vehicle accident

ZANESVILLE, Ohio- ***UPDATE*** Westbound lanes have been reopened.

All westbound lanes of I-70 were closed Monday night at Airport Road (mile marker 160) due to a multi-vehicle crash according to the Ohio Department of Transportation.

The State Highway Patrol said the accident was a result of the slick road conditions. At least 3 semi-trailers were involved and several other vehicles slid off into the median as they tried to avoid the accident.

Traffic was being rerouted to US 40/22. Officials said the closure lasted for approximately two hours.
