87th annual Inner city bowling league

ZANESVILLE, Ohio- Hundreds of women bowlers from across the state have made their way to the Y-Bridge City of Zanesville.

Saturday, many women gathered for the 87th annual Inner City Bowling tournament at Sunrise Strikes.

“Women from all over the state of Ohio have converged on Zanesville so they’re going to be bowling hopefully enjoying the things that the area has, hopefully local attractions and things that the area has to offer as well. You know, just having some fellowship,” said Director of The Zanesville U.S.B.C, Andy Hoffman.

“It feel amazing because you make all these preparations, you kind of put the word out and you kind of wonder if anybody’s going to be here. All of sudden they all show up and everybody’s got their stuff and ready to go,” said Hoffman. 

Among dignitaries in attendance was Chamber of Commerce Vice President, Kelly Ashby, who spoke about how their thrilled about being able to have hosted this years tournament. 

“We are absolutely thrilled to welcome the women bowlers into Zanesville- Muskingum county. They are here for a tournament that will go through mid april. Every weekend through mid April, we will have hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of lady bowlers in Zanesville- Muskingum county. It is has a huge economic impact on the area. They will be staying at our hotels and visiting our shops and eating at our restaurants,” said Ashby.

The tournament is set to take place every Saturday at Sunrise Strikes bowling lanes.
