Genesis Care Ranks Nationally

One of the top 100 health care systems in the country is right in our backyard…

Genesis Health Care was awarded several national and state awards for its clinical quality and patient safety. The Heart Care team is ranked in the top 10 percent nationally. Pam Canter is the Director of Quality Management, and she said it’s important for people within the community to see the level of work meets such high standards.

"Our mission here is to provide compassionate and quality health care, and it’s just, it’s exciting to see all the hard work and dedication of our physicians and staff," said Canter.

The Heart Care team is made of up three board-certified, Cardiovascular Thoracic Surgeons – Dinesh Bhaskaran, M.D., Gregory Keagy, D.O., and Eduardo Jorge, M.D.

"It’s actually very exciting. I’m one of the new cardiac surgeons in town and to join a group of surgeons that actually performs at that level, is pretty exciting. The goal from now on is to maintain that level," said Bhaskaran.

"It really is quite humbling because we work hard to do the best for our patients and it’s nice to see an outcome when somebody recognizes the hard work that’s put in," said Keagy.

"Right here in town, you have a program that is one of the best in the country. And so there’s no need to go any place else…If I needed a coronary bypass, I’d have it done here," said Jorge.

Genesis is able to perform almost all heart-related surgeries, other than transplants.
