The offensive woes in the first half came back to bite Newark Catholic in a five-point loss on Thursday night.  After shutting out the Flames in the first quarter en route to a 6-0 lead, the Green Wave couldn’t get a shot to fall early in the second quarter, allowing their opponent to climb back in it and tie the game at halftime.  With the score tied at 17 late in the third quarter, Shekinah went on a 7-0 run to close the quarter and led 24-17 heading in the final period.  Despite getting within one twice with under a minute to go, the Flames hit their free throws late and held on for victory.
