Gas Leak Repaired -Linden Avenue Re-Opens

The Muskingum County Emergency Management Agency says repairs have been made to a ruptured natural gas line in Zanesville. It happened around 9:15 Tuesday morning after a contractor struck a 2 inch gas line on Linden Avenue between Hoge and Tileston. The Zanesville Fire Department evacuated some nearby homes as a precaution. E-M-A Deputy Director Jeff Jadwin says residents within a ¼ miles of the leak were called by authorities and told to stay indoors until the issue was repaired. Linden Avenue was closed for a short time. The residents have been allowed to return to their homes. There were no injuries reported.
