Saving Money during the Holiday Season

For the holiday season, folks are finding they are spending less and saving more money this year.

That’s largely due to gas prices that have been hovering around the $2.00 mark for the past several months and motorists say they are able to do more activities, buy things for their loved ones, and travel more with the money they are saving.

“I’m going to Ann Arbor Michigan, I just left Charleston West Virginia,” said Maurice Washington.

“Do a little bit of shopping today, thats what we’re going to do today my wife doesn’t know if yet. Maybe go find the wife something,” said Steven Collins.

Although some areas did see a spike in gas prices earlier today to around $1.99, we are still finding prices under $1.70 a gallon in some parts of Zanesville. Motorists say any little bit helps.

“It’s a good thing that gas is going down, that helps, it really helps,” said Washington.

“About a year ago it was about $20 just to fill up half a tank of gas, now it’s probably half of that,” said Collins.

“A dollar something is a dollar something and it’s better then $2.90 or $3.00,” said Washington.

And the good news is that gas prices are expected to remain low throughout the winter due to the decreased demand for gasoline.
