Rosecrans Switching Leagues in 2017

Rosecran Switch

The Rosecrans Bishops are leaving the East Central Ohio League for the Mid-State League starting in the 2017-2018 school year, Bishop Athletic Association President Rod Gibson confirmed Thursday.

The Bishops will compete in the Cardinal Division alongside the likes of Berne Union, Harvest Prep, Fisher Catholic, Millersport, Grove City Christian, Fairfield Christian and the newly added Wellington School.

Gibson says the move is a “better fit for the school all-around” and will stack the Bishops up against schools with more comparable enrollment numbers. He added that a plan is in the works that might get the Rosecrans football team into the Cardinal Divison for the upcoming season.

Other teams in the MSL include Amanda-Clearcreek, Bexley, Bloom-Carroll, Circleville, Columbus Academy, Fairfield Union, Grandview Heights, Hamilton Township, Liberty Union, Logan Elm, London, Madison Plains, Teays Valley, West Jefferson and Whitehall-Yearling.
