Locals Take A Crash Course On Fatherhood

One local organization is helping men become fathers.

Forever Dads is hosting a boot camp for new dads to learn from veteran fathers about the ups and downs of fatherhood. This three hour crash-course focuses on preparing first-time dads on ways they can become better partners and fathers once their child is born. Boot Camp for Dads participant, Matthew Brown said this was an eye-opening experience.

“After attending the boot camp I did feel more confident in just what to expect, said Brown “I can’t imagine being a new father and not going through that boot camp and just not having that information that they provided. I definitely felt more confident after attending the boot camp and I would suggest it to any new father.”

Brown said the program covers some of the details of the delivery room, and ways to be helpful to new moms once you return home from the hospital. Brown told us his wife was very happy that he attended the camp.

“She was excited to learn that I was going to enjoy taking the boot camp course. She was happy that I was committed to helping help raise our son and she was happy to know that I was their to help her,” said Brown.

The boot camp has recently moved to the Muskingum Valley Health Center due to the increase of enrollments. The next camp will be February 6th from 9 a.m until noon.
