Local Gymnasts Compete In A Hometown Meet

 12 Southeastern Ohio gymnastics teams compete in a annual hometown meet.

Tri-Valley High School held the Champion Gymnastics 2nd Annual Dawg House Challenge Saturday. Head Coach Jennifer Martin said there are nearly 120 girls that participates in the competition.

"I think it’s really important that the schools have allowed the girls the opportunity to compete high school gymnastics. It gives them a chance to future their gymnastics career after they’re little girls and they can compete for their club," said Martin.

The Club Girls Competition followed the high school meet. We talked to 7 year old Gi Gi Grandstaff, a Level 2 gymnast who said she looks forward to competing with her friends.

"It’s really fun and you get to do a lot of fun stuff, said Grandstaff. "I am very excited for the competition."
