Matson Pleads Not Guilty to Drug Charges
The Zanesville man arrested in connection to the largest heroin bust in local history made an appearance in Muskingum County Common Pleas Court. The Prosecutors’ Office says 36-year-old Timothy Matson pled not guilty three counts of possession of drugs and one count of having a weapon while under a disability. Zanesville Police says Matson was arrested last month after a bust at 807 Larzelere Avenue that resulted in the seizure of $105,000 in heroin, $25,000 in methamphetamine, $3000 in marijuana, $18,500 in U.S. currency, one semi-automatic handgun and a vehicle. The bust also included the Muskingum County Sheriff’s Office and the Central Ohio Drug Enforcement Task Force. Common Pleas Judge Mark Fleggle continued Matson’s bond at $1,000,000. If Matson is convicted on all charges he faces up to 26 years in prison.
