UPDATE: Fatal Accident In Coshocton County

UPDATE: The Coshocton County Sheriff’s Department has identified and released the name of a man killed in a motorcycle accident. 

Dale R. Hawkins, 63-years-old of Newcomerstown area died of his injuries at the OSU Medical Center following an accident where he was not wearing a helment. 

The Coshocton County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal accident.

Sheriff Tim Rogers says they got a call Wednesday night around 6:00 after a motorcycle accident on Coshocton County Road 20 near County Road 452. Rogers says a male was riding south on County Road 20 when he lost control of his motorcycle while rounding a curve.

Rogers says the rider, who was not wearing a helmet, was ejected from the cycle causing serious injuries. The victim – whose name is not yet being released – was flown to Ohio State University Medical Center where he later died.

The accident remains under investigation.
