Perry County Deputy Back On Job
A Perry County Sheriff’s Deputy who was on paid administrative leave while a shooting he was involved in was investigated – is back on the job. Sergeant Kevin Starrett was back at work late last week. Perry County Sheriff Randy Barker says last month Sergeant Starrett opened fire when a suspect tried to flee from law enforcement in a vehicle in Junction City. The victim – 27-year-old Dustin Dugan was shot multiple times through the windshield of his vehicle. He was initially in critical condition and is still recovering from his wounds. Dugan was the subject of an investigation into possible stolen property. The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation is looking into the shooting and has not released any details of their findings. Sherriff Barker was not available for comment today. A phone call message left with Sergeant Starrett was not returned.
