Pet of the Week in need of a Forever Home

For this week’s pet of the week, we are showcasing a one year old female feline.

Meet Chrissy, she was welcomed to the Animal Shelter Society a little over a month ago and has an adoption fee of $20. The $20 fee is apart of a special the Animal Shelter is having Friday and Saturday, where the first 20 cats sold are only 20 bucks.

"She’s a very calm cat, likes to be held, gets along with other cats and dogs and obviously people so, she is one of many that we have right now. We are near our capacity with cats so we’re hoping that people are looking to make Chrissy a member of their forever home," said Jody Murray, Executive Director of the Animal Shelter Society.

The Animal Shelter is also teaming up with PetSmart this weekend for another adoption event. Murray said they will be there to assist with the adoptions and answer any questions.

"We generally have some small dogs and puppies there. It’s just another avenue, people can come to the shelter or if they’re out and about stop at PetSmart we’ll have volunteers there to answer questions and be able to go over the adoption process if they want to do that," said Murray.

The adoption event at PetSmart began Friday at 5 p.m and goes on until 8 p.m.
