Newark Woman Killed In Motorcycle Accident

A Newark woman is dead after a fatal motorcycle crash on State Route 13. The Lancaster Post of the Highway Patrol says it happened Sunday just after 4:00 p.m. one mile north of High Point Road. Troopers says 50-year-old Garret White of Heath was riding his motorcycle north on State Route 13 while 46-year-old Darreld Halblaub and passenger 53-year-old Lori Veits, both of Newark were also traveling northbound. Investigators say both motorcycles attempted to pass a vehicle and came in contact with each other. Halbalub and Veits were ejected from their cycle. Viets died from her injuries. Halbalub is in serious condition at Ohio State Medical Center in Columbus. Troopers say there were no helmets in use when the crash occurred.
