Two-Car Accident on Kopchak Road

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Thursday, at approximately 5:00 p.m. a two-car collision west of Zanesville on Kopchak Road closed the roadway to motorists for almost two hours. The accident happened near the Ridge Road intersection where Pinkerton Lane turns into Kopchak Road.

A maroon minivan was driving south on Kopchak and a green Ford Fiesta was traveling northbound. The minivan drove left of center lane and struck the Ford head-on.

Trooper Rich Lanning with Zanesville Post of the Highway Patrol said that both drivers were taken to Genesis, and that alcohol did not play a role in the accident. Trooper Lanning said the injuries sustained to each driver was not life threatening. South Zanesville Fire Department was the first to respond to the accident. The road reopened for traffic at approximately 6:30.
