Last Day Of Class For Franklin Local School District

There’s no other feeling in the world quite like the last day of school. It’s a time for songs, goodbyes, relief and for some cheer.

Wednesday marks the last day of classes for Franklin Local School District. While some folks was skipping for joy and eager to race out of the door to start their summer-break adventures, others considers it as just another regular school day.

"We try to have school be school clear up to the end of the year. We have finals today for our social studies classes. We try not to have all of the finals on the last day. We kind of spread it out so that the kids don’t have all of them on one day, this week we’ve had different finals and different subjects having their final. We’re just having school," said Troy Dawson, Principal of Philo High School.

We talked to Philo High School, Sophomore Class President, Peyton Strawsberg who said when the final bell rings at 2:10 p.m and it’s officially summer break, he is looking forward to simply sleeping in.

"Probably just the fact that we don’t have to wake up early tomorrow and we don’t have to come to school and we’ll be able to sleep in and hopefully have some fun," said Strawsberg.

Strawsberg said he also plans to make a lot of progress in the weight-room during his summer break and get ready for the football season.
