Zanesvilles Parkinson's Group Gears Up For 'golf For A Cause' Tournament.

The All Shook Up Zanesville’s Parkinson’s Group is gearing up for it 2nd Annual ‘Golf for a Cause’ tournament.

The event takes place July 9th at the Vista golf course. Secretary and Event Coordinator, Robert Swanson, said the purpose of this event is to raise money for exercise equipment for their Parkinson’s Exercise Group.

"Last year we made about $7,000 but, after the expenses we cleared about $4,000 and we gave back a thousand dollars to the National Parkinson’s Association and we plan on doing that this year. When we have the 25th golf event, we’re still going to continue to do that," said Swanson.

Swanson said they’re trying to grow their organization and send a positive message across to others suffering with this disease, that they are here and they want to help.

"We reach out to 5 different counties that comes to exercise with us and we want to use that money. We set up a little deal that if somebody comes and they can’t really afford it, until they get on their feet we will take care of them for a little while," said Swanson.
