The Midway Speedway Reopens Under New Management

CROOKSVILLE, Oh – If you’re a fan of dirt racing you are in luck because, a new place is opening its doors in just 7 days.

The Midway Speedway Track in Crooksville will reopen it’s doors under new management next Sunday after being closed for the past two years. The Track Operator, Jeremy Krouskoupf said once the opportunity presented itself they had to jump on it.

"One more year I don’t think it would’ve been savable. The opportunity came up and we jumped at it. It was a group of people that loved the sport and will do anything to see that it succeeds. This track has a great history of legendary drivers and fans that have been apart of this, just to see it go away, it belongs running," said Krouskoupf.

Midway Speedway first opened it’s door in 1988. A long time racer, Norm Aronhalt remembers all to well and is happy to see it return.

"I’ve raced for 41 years, this will be the 41st year doing it. I’ve raced in all different classes that they run here," said Aronhalt. "It’s been a great place to race and to see Jeremy take it over it was kind of a surprise but, I’m glad to see him do it and if anyone could get it open he can and do a good job at it," said Aronhalt.

The gates open Sunday, June 5th at 1 p.m and the first race begins at 4 p.m.
