ZANESVILLE, Ohio- June 1st is National Running Day. Here in Muskingum County there are several places to run like Dillon State Park or the Muskingum Recreation Center.

Several people put on their running shoes and headed to the track. We stopped by the rec center for some running tips.

“Some things to keep in mind while running you have to stay hydrated,” Exercise Specialist Tony Zaleski said. “You should always bring water with you while you’re running. You should always stretch before and after you get your run in.”

The rec center will be hosting its 4th annual Red, White, and Run 5k on July 4th.

“Registration is $25 per person, if you register before the 17th of June you get a free t-shirt. We just want to bring a running event to the area something that we on the 4th of July. It’s just a great way for everyone to get together and get a run in,” Zaleski said.

Walkers are also welcome. Register online thru July 2nd at musrec.org.
