‘The Winding Road A-Z’ Art Show is Approaching
100 artists will participate in the 2nd Annual ‘Foot by Foot’ Art Show, this weekend.
The event will take place at Weasel Boy Brewery in the party room. Saturday is the One-Day Art Show and Sale, with doors opening at noon. The event is free to the public. David Mitzel said the art work will be of a person, place or thing in Athens, Hocking, Morgan, Muskingum or Perry County.
“It’s all to benefit art and to grow the notoriety of the Winding Road. We have the Hocking Hills next to us, they get more people every year than yellow stone park. We need to start getting more people here buying art. We have a lot of artist and we need to encourage tourism we also need to encourage artist and others when they see our town to come here and settle,” said Mitzel.
Mitzel said the main idea is to show the diversity of style and expertise of artists from Athens to Zanesville and bring more tourist to the county.
“People really needs to look towards developing ourselves as a place of destination for people to come and people to spend the night and spend money at restaurants. Do the things that can support the economic base,” said Mitzel.
Each artist will have the chance to donate 50 dollars of their proceeds to an arts organization of their choice.
