Outpatient Surgical Center Opens in Zanesville

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – For many who needed orthopedic surgery in Southeastern, Ohio, it meant at least an hour commute to Columbus. Now an outpatient orthopedic center has opened its doors to service those away from the capital city.

Friday was the official ribbon cutting ceremony for the Northpointe Surgical Suites. The new surgical center opens its doors on Northpointe Drive, just east of State Route 146. Dr. Brad Brautigan, who is the CEO of the center, said it will be helpful to many Zanesville residents.

“Out patient joint replacement is new to the city of Zanesville,” said Brautigan. “It’s currently being offered in Columbus. My patients have been going up to Columbus with me for the past two-and-a-half years to have those procedures done and now they don’t have to travel as far.”

The new center will employ about 40 people and they can handle 15-to-20 cases a day. Dr. Brautigan said that from his first vision of the center to the ribbon cutting ceremony, the process was way ahead of schedule.

“It took less than a year, which is remarkable,” said Brautigan. “The discussion began before that but as far as what it was going to look like, where it was going to be, it took less than a year to do that. The vision that we had for the center, it appeared just as we saw it.”

The surgical suites will begin taking patients next week.
