The Triple Nickel Country Cruise-In Kicks-Off Saturday

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The 6th Annual Triple Nickel Country Cruise-In will kick off Saturday at 1:30 p.m.

Saint John’s Lutheran Church in Stovertown is hosting the event to support the church’s youth group. Steve Wolfe, a Chairman for the ‘Cruise-In’ said the idea behind the event started after his dad passed away, to celebrate local fathers and keep the church active in the community.

“We have this church in this beautiful country setting. We have a black top parking lot, shelter house, this nice field. We thought, why don’t we try doing a cruise-in and we could have it on father’s day weekend in memory of dad,” said Wolfe.

Brandon Woods said they are expecting up to 150 cars in the cruise- in. He said if it has wheel’s it’s welcome. When asked what was the difference between a car-show and cruise-in and Wood had this to say.

“In car lingo it’s a cruise-in the difference is that we don’t do awards we just do it for the fun of it. I really think that is the big thing that sets up apart is that we want people to go just to go. You don’t have to have the best vehicle in the world to show up,” said Wood.

The event is free and the is no entry fee. Organizers said they make their proceeds off of the delicious “church lady cooking.”
