Search For Assault Suspect Underway

The Zanesville Police Department is searching for a 28-year-old area man wanted in connection with a serious assault.  It happened in the early morning hours of March 11th at a residence in the 700 block of Homewood Avenue.  Detective Sergeant Ric Roush says Rodriquez Hampton of Zanesville is wanted on aggravated burglary, kidnapping and domestic violence charges.  He is described as a black male, six feet tall, 200 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.  Roush says on March 11th just before 4:30 in the morning, police were called to the home of a 26-year-old female on Homewood Avenue.  Roush says officers could hear screams coming from inside the house.  Officers then found a female inside who had been assaulted.  She was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital with serious facial injuries.  The suspect fled on foot and remains on the loose.  Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Rodriquez Hampton is asked to call Zanesville Police at 740 455-0700.
