Hundreds Gather For Vigil For Tri Valley Student

DRESDEN, Ohio – Usually, Jack Anderson Stadium is a place to cheer on the Tri-Valley football team. However, Thursday evening it was a place for mourning and remembrance.

Tri-Valley student Camden Ross passed away on July 5 and today hundreds gathered in Dresden to remember him with a vigil. ‘Cam,’ as his friends called him, was a straight ‘A’ student and a member of the Tri-Valley football team.

His middle school football coach, Ben Kennedy, will always remember him as a positive young man.

“He’s a fantastic young man. He is every bit of this community, every bit of his family. He is all boy,” said Kennedy. “He was literally just fun to be around. Everyone wanted to be a part of what he was doing.”

Hundreds gathered in Dresden to remember Ross, which Kennedy said was testament to how much he meant to the town.

“It’s absolutely a great community. It doesn’t matter what it is,” said Kennedy. “That is the type of people that are here. That’s what makes teaching here and living here great. Being from here, the people have a tremendous amount of love.”

Ross was only 15-years-old.
