Zanesville City Schools Honoring HOF Members
The Zanesville City Schools Hall of Fame Committee is honoring members of its 2012 class.
This is the fifth class to be inducted to the hall of fame, which was created in 2007 to recognize those who have displayed outstanding abilities and contributed to the progress of Zanesville City Schools. Committee President Wayne Carpenter said all ten inductees deserve a place on the wall.
"A typical inductee may have, for example, been involved in athletics," said Carpenter. "He may have been very successful in high school and went on to pursue his abilities through college or even as a professional. In fine arts, that person may have been very successful or got his beginning in high school."
Carpenter said it’s important for current Zanesville High School students to acknowledge those who came before them.
"You can’t help but walk by here and notice the pictures and resumes on the wall," said Carpenter. "We hope that will inspire them to work harder and pursue their goals even after they complete their studies here at Zanesville High School."
An induction ceremony is planned for May 12th. Tickets can be purchased for $25 at the mayor’s office.
