Tiberi Speaks to NFIB In Zanesville

Congressman Pat Tiberi, who attended the shale meeting Friday, spoke later to local members of the National Federation of Independent Business in Zanesville.

He spoke about the economy and jobs to the Muskingum County chapter of the NFIB at Maria Adornetto’s Restaurant during a luncheon.

The 12th district lawmaker who is seeking re-election said independent businesses play an important role in getting the economy back on track.

"Small, independent businesses are really the backbone of our economy. So when you look at jobs and you look at the foundation of employment in America since it’s inception and continuing today, small businesses are what drives our economy, said Tiberi"

Member Services Coordinator Jacob Larger said many of the members of NFIB look to those in Washington as job creators, and are happy to hear from the congressman in person.

"He’s that first window for our members to speak directly to the Congress– House and Senate down in Washington. The more contacts we can put in with members of Congress with small business owners, that’s great," said Larger.

Tiberi also discussed his plans for improving the economy through small business.
