St. Luke's Gets Ready For Community Day

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – St. Luke Lutheran Church in Zanesville is once again preparing for their annual Community Day celebration.

This will be their second annual Community Day and will be held this Saturday. Steve Oliver works as a coordinator for the church and said they will have plenty of activities for everyone including Zanesville Police K-9s, a demonstration from the fire department, games, food, and a jazz band.

“It’s not always about talking about the Lord, it’s about showing the Lord, and living it,” said Oliver. “And if we do that we’ll reach more people and it will be uplifting and I think people will come on out and see us.”

The church is located at 1330 Pine Street and Oliver said it is free to everyone regardless if you go to St. Luke’s, or even if you don’t attend a church.

“We want to reach out to people of other congregations, particularly the un-churched. We really want to reach the un-churched. We want you to come out and see what we are all about. We’re not here to hit anyone over the head. Acceptance and love. Come find out what it’s all about,” said Oliver.

Community Day runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday.
