Zanesville City Schools Honors Hall of Fame Inductees
Hundreds gathered at Zanesville High School Saturday evening to recognize the newest members of the Zanesville City Schools Hall of Fame.
This is the fifth class of inductees in the school’s history.
Hall of Fame Committee President Wayne Carpenter said all of the members have contributed to the rich tradition of the community.
"We’re inducting people from all different ways of life most of them have been graduates of Zanesville High School, although they don’t have to be. They’ve contributed in many means to Zanesville City Schools," said Carpenter.
Members of the 1955 State Champion Men’s Basketball team were honored on Saturday.
Carpenter said it’s the first time an entire team has been inducted into the Hall of Fame.
"We have over 45 people coming to represent that team tonight– 10 different individuals from that team of 12 are here this evening to be inducted into the hall of fame," added Carpenter.
Hall of Fame member and former Mayor "Butch" Zwelling served as the Master of Ceremonies for the event.
