Residents of The Oaks at Northpointe Enjoy a Staycation

ZANESVILLE, Ohio- Today, The Oaks at Northpointe held their Staycation event to bring some joy to residents who are unable to go on vacations this summer with their family and friends. 

The tropical themed event included tropical foods, snow cones, and beach jams to make the residents feel like that right there at the beach. 

Executive Director for The Oaks at Northpointe, Jacqueline Altier, said, “You know we get to enjoy vacation and unfortunately like I said our residents don’t always get to leave for vacations, so we wanted to allow them the opportunity to enjoy vacation right here at their home.”

Family and friends gathered with the residents to also enjoy the water activities, including the famous Slip ‘N Slide.

Altier stated, “Our residents are very engaged they love to be able to be social, enjoy water activities,which seems to be something that is a highlight for them.” Altier added, “They have been coming and asking when are we going to do it. So yea the residents love to have fun and do things outside of the norm and try to relive some of their childhood memories.”
