2nd day of Newton Township Community Days

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The Newton Township Community Days weekend events continued Saturday afternoon at the Newton Township Fire Department.
The flea market portion of the event has over 75 vendors, and this morning they held a parade through the Newton Township streets. Newton Township Community Days President, Dora Maxwell said yesterday’s crowd was fantastic, and she believes today and tomorrow will bring even more people.
“It was a really good day. Absolutely beautiful weather and we had a lot of shoppers so it was good.” Maxwell added, “This morning we had our parade at 10:00 am and now we are getting ready for our duck race at noon.
The parade had a variety of different features including the Newton Township Fire Department and E.M.S.
“Tomorrow we have the chicken barbecue starting at 11:00 am and also the car show will be at 11:00 am as well, judging is around 1:30,” said Maxwell.
The flea market will be open until 3:00 pm tomorrow. Maxwell said the community support makes the event so special.
