Coat Drive Prepares Community for Cold Winter

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – With temperatures quickly dropping the Muskingum County Community Youth Foundation is holding their 12th annual coat drive.
Advisor for the foundation Christy Rahrig says two local organizations are in need of coats for kids this year.
” Winters in Ohio have never really been kind to us and everybody deserves to have a warm coat or winter item to keep them warm.”
They’re accepting coats, hats, scarves, blankets and other items for children and other people who cannot afford to keep warm.
“Our youngest child is under two years old in one of our youth programs and then some of the children are high-school-age but again, not everyone has the means of getting a new coat. “
To donate a new or gently used item, just place it in a bin before November 8th.
Those bins are located at the Muskingum County Community Foundation, all branches of the Muskingum County Library, Century National Bank, North Valley Bank, Peoples Bank, all branches of Huntington Bank in Zanesville and all branches of Community Bank in Zanesville.
They’re also located at these high schools: Bishop Rosecrans, John Glenn, Maysville, Philo, Tri-Valley, West Muskingum and Zanesville.
