Man dead, 2 charged in Newark

NEWARK, Ohio – The Newark Divisions of Police and Fire said they found a man shot in the chest Saturday.

They say they went to the apartment at 65 Weston Road around 3:23 a.m. There, they found Peyton J. Anderson, 20, of Columbus with a gunshot wound to the chest. Medics attended to those wounds but he later died.

While investigating, detectives spoke with Kenneth Hall, 24, of Newark and Danielle Stewart, 44, of Newark. Hall was charged with homicide and Stewart was charged with obstruction of justice, according to police. Both were taken to the Licking County Justice Center.

Investigators say Anderson later died at the hospital.
