Archery Team Raising Money For National Tournament
An area archery team needs your help getting to nationals.
The Maysville Archery Boosters are trying to raise $20,000 to send the high school archery team to the national tournament in Orlando this fall. The team is no stranger to competition.
"They went to the national tournament in Louisville, Kentucky where they placed second in the nation out of 126 teams, defeating Logan, so you can see how competitive archery is in the state of Ohio," said Melissa Spring, Maysville Archery Boosters President.
The team boasts some great talent, as a freshman Tyler Finley became the state and national champion awarding him a $10,000 scholarship. In order to raise the money needed for the trip to Florida, the team has planned several events.
"We’re having a hog roast out here at Southeastern Ohio Sportsman Association on September 8th. It’ll have a 3D shoot, cornhole tournament, raffles and games and lots of family fun activities," said Mallory Spring, member of the Maysville Archery Team.
Tickets for the hog roast can be purchased at Coconis Furniture, Maysville High School or any local archery store.
