The Wilds holding job fair at Zane State College

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The Wilds and Zane State College are teaming up for a hiring event.

The 10,000 acre conservation center and safari park located in Cumberland is currently looking to fill over 100 positions before opening daily to the public in May.

Associate Dean for Workforce Development at Zane State Tracey Porter says there is a variety of jobs to apply for.

“They have jobs listed for their cafe, for a retail associate in the gift shop, zip line crew, grounds crew, horse back riding — you name it — they have a little bit of everything.”

Porter says the jobs are seasonal.

“For students it’s perfect because it’s seasonal employment so students looking for summer employment. It’s also a great choice for teachers who don’t work in the summer that want to pick up a summer job because it fits into their schedule as well. And — people don’t think about this but it’s also a great opportunity for people who have retired but aren’t ready to stop working. So it’s a very casual work environment that retirees enjoy. “

The job fair will be held Tuesday, February 18 and Monday, March 16 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the college in the Campus Center room 430.

Jobs listed include: WildeCamp Counselor, Interpretive Tour Guide, Horseback Tour Guide, Zipline Tour Guide, Food Service Crew Member, Seasonal Overlook Café Server, Retail Associate, Admissions Clerk, Shuttle Driver and Parking Attendant, Grounds Keeper and Fishing Attendant.
