Perry County Church Fire Intentionally Set

Church Fire 1

The
State Fire Marshal’s Office  issued an
update on a Perry
County church fire.

Public Information Officer Brian Bohnert says the fire at Good Shepherd United Methodist Church in Junction City was intentionally set.  He says investigators cannot determined where the fire was set because the damage was so severe. Perry County Sheriff William Barker says his department is assisting the Junction City Police Department in the case.  He says a suspect is currently being held on an outstanding warrant in Fairfield County.  He says investigators will now determine if there is enough evidence to charge the suspect in the church fire.  The fire happened last Tuesday morning.
