Turning A School Into A Political Platform
The Zanesville City School District is getting ready for Joe Biden’s speech on Saturday.
The vice president is scheduled to be at Zane Grey Elementary School at 9:30 a.m. Student Services Coordinator Kevin Appleman said more tickets were handed out Friday.
"We’re very excited that they chose Zanesville City Schools and the town of Zanesville," said Appleman. "This is huge, and it’s great that they’re stopping by here. I think it’s a great opportunity for our city and our schools."
Former Republican Presidential Candidate John McCain spoke at the old Zanesville High School back in 2008. Appleman said that education will play an important role in this election.
"I think it stirs up some things here in our schools to talk about history and everything," said Appleman. "I believe that there will be some students here tomorrow."
Guests are asked to bring as few personal items as possible for security reasons.
