Governor DeWine: We Must Get Back to Work the Right Way

Ohio Governor Mike DeWine Thursday said “we must get the Ohio economy moving again.” He made the announcement during his daily briefing at the Ohio Statehouse in Columbus. But he stressed its must be done the right way. The Governor says we don’t want to get back and then have a disaster with a huge spike in the number of people who have tested positive and in the hospital. DeWine says companies that can demonstrate they can safety reopen with coronavirus precautions could start opening May 1st and recall their employees. Ohio Health Department Director Dr. Amy Acton says the path ahead will consist of several phases and there is a lot of things that you can do to help us continue to flatten the curve, such as great hygiene and wearing a face mask while out in public. The Governor says as we open back up, we will continue to monitor where we are in the curve, the amount of personal protection equipment we have available, and Ohio’s testing capacity. There are 8,239 confirmed COVID-19 cases with 373 confirmed deaths.
