Bet on Baylee Bunch to Participate in Energy for Life Walk

ZANESVILLE, OH – Sunday September 13th The Bet on Baylee Bunch will be holding an Energy for Life Walkathon at the Crooksville Track.
September 13th through the 19th is Mitochondrial Disease Awareness Week. There is currently no known cure and that is why Jody Thompson is so motivated to continue fundraising.
“A lot of people don’t know what mitochondrial disease is. My daughter Baylee is affected with it, she’s 20 now. So we have done major fundraising through the years, we’ve raised over $100,000 our family, doing Bet on Baylee through 14 years of that. So we decided just to do this walk and like I said registration’s $25, you get a shirt with that. You can come that day to register, it’s not a problem.”
Sheriff Matt Lutz presented to the County Commissioners a resolution to turn the courthouse green for Mitochondrial Awareness Week, this was passed last night. The community support has helped Thompson continue her fundraising through the years.
“I took a big hiatus, I just kind of took a step back for a while. I was just tired, but I’ve been getting an itch to want to do something again. I thought this would be a good way just to get the community involved and get out of the house to do something for a couple of hours. We have a huge support system in Crooksville, around the Perry County area always have and you know of course it’s even come into Muskingum County through the years.”
