Homeless Hands of Zanesville to Hold A Week on the Street Homeless Challenge

Homeless Challenge

ZANESVILLE, OH – Homeless Hands of Zanesville is hosting their first Week on the Street Homeless Challenge from October 9th until October 14th.

This challenge is meant to raise awareness of the struggles and hardships the homeless face on a daily basis, while also raising money for Homeless Hands through participant sponsors.

“I think it’ll be good for the community to be able to see what our homeless actually go through. Because you know we try to put out as many stories as we can and we just can’t, I cannot get that picture onto a Facebook page, of how bad things are or how hard it is. You know and they’re constantly on the move, our homeless are constantly on the move because there’s nowhere to go,” President of Homeless Hands of Zanesville Tammy Clark said.

Participants, including Clark, will have to park their cars, give up their identification, and be responsible for figuring out where to sleep, eat, and bathe.

“They’re going to have to park their cars, and they’re allowed to have a book bag, they can have a maximum of $5 on them, no identifications they won’t need them. But they’re going to have to, we’re all going to have to figure out where we’re going to stay, where we’re going to sleep, you know you’re not allowed to have a tent in Zanesville, so that kind of makes it a little bit harder.”

If you would like to participate or sponsor a participant of the event you can contact Homeless Hands of Zanesville at (740)617-7164 for more information.
