Library Has Community Read

ZANESVILLE, Ohio-The Muskingum County Library System is having its community read event this Thursday the 14th.
The book is “You Never Forget Your First” about George Washington and the community read event has been months in planning. Adult Services Manager Erin Barlow says that the vent will have a special guest.
“The community read is coming up this Thursday evening. It’s online because of COVID, but Alexis Coe, the author of You Never Forget Your First, is going to be speaking for about 45 minutes, then we’re gonna do a Q and A session afterwards. You can still sign up for that online, you can still get copies of the book, if you don’t feel comfortable coming into any of the locations we can bring it out to you curbside.”
Barlow says the community read program is important to bring a sense of togetherness back to the readers of the area. The chosen book is a favorite amongst library staff.
“The book is about George Washington. It’s got a lot of neat facts that you probably didn’t know, and it’s told from a different perspective, kind of a female perspective, so it’s kind of tongue in cheek. So it’s not heavy history, you learn stuff but it’s fun.”
Reservations of the book can be made on the library’s website or over the phone.
