Holiday Decorating Continues in Downtown Zanesville

Y Bridge Decorating

ZANESVILLE, OH – With Thanksgiving behind us and the rest of the holiday season approaching, holiday decorating continued today in downtown Zanesville.

Nelson’s Seasonal Decor took on bringing the holiday spirit to The Y-Bridge, Zane’s Landing, and The Welcome Center. Owner Russ Nelson tells us what we can expect to see on the Y-Bridge.

“Well today we’re putting some fresh cut greens and an artificial garland on the lampposts. And the greens we sourced them from the Pacific Northwest, all over the country, and some of them were sustained locally. We actually got a really nice Norway Spruce donated to us this year from Tom and Vicky Burke. They’re local garden society members and the tree was too close to another tree so we were able to get that and incorporate that into the baskets.”

Nelson says the weather has been cooperating so far this season. Today cool and cloudy conditions were good enough as The Y-Bridge itself took several hours to complete.

“We probably have around 250 lights in each basket and that’s in the top and the garland coming down. And it’s taken about a half an hour per pole and there’s 17 poles. And then a lot of it was prepped ahead of time to set on top of the baskets and that took the decorators two days to get prepped.”

Nelson says the decorations will be complete today and encourages everyone to come down and take a look.
