He settled his family in Grove City Oh until 1968, when he moved the family to Zanesville Oh to manage a Railway Express Agency Freight warehouse. It was the Fedx of the time, it closed in 1975. But we stayed in Zanesville because they loved the little town. He was very active with the Zanesville High School Boosters, working many football and basketball games and even drove the Cheerleaders to games. He and mom were very involved in all the activities of the kids. He was a truck driver for most of his life, delivering Freight, Beer, and Milk, throughout his career. He retired from Borden Dairy of Zanesville, Oh. He was a 50 year member of North Terrace Church of Christ, 32 year member of the Ohio Eastern Star Brownsville Chapter #486, and a 32 year member of the Jackson Masonic Lodge #85, His greatest joy, other than his lovely wife, was GOLF. He was on the golf course rain or shine. In his late retirement, he worked for Jaycees Golf Course mowing the greens and fairways. Mowing early morning, then golf in the afternoon. Many of our vacation destinations must be by a golf course. He made trips to Myrtle Beach to golf with his sons, and many friends. Mom took up golf so they could play together. He was loved by all, even with his gruff outside, he was a teddy bear.
A memorial service will take place at North Terrance Church of Christ 1420 Brandywine Blvd Zanesville Oh 43701. On January 23, 2021 at 11am with Bill Meaige officiating.
