Fatal ATV accident in Coshocton County

COSHOCTON CO., Ohio–The Coshocton County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal ATV accident.

The accident happened Thursday at 3:05 p.m. on County Road 402 in Coshocton County.

The Sheriff’s Office reports that an ATV being operated by Mark Welch, of Canton, OH, was traveling east on C.R. 402 when he lost control of the ATV causing it to roll over, ejecting Welch.

Authorities said Welch was not wearing a helmet and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Coshocton County Coroner.

Assisting Deputies at the scene was Coshocton County EMS, the Walhonding Valley Fire District and the Coshocton County Coroner.
