MCCF Holding Virtual Groundhog Day

ZANESVILLE, Ohio-The Muskingum County Community Foundation is holding a virtual Groundhog Day celebration this year.
The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has made in person events impossible to hold responsibly. Chief Executive Officer Brian Wagner tells us how it’ll be different this year.
“We thought this would be a great way to get the community together, celebrate Groundhogs Day, and have a little bit of fun. We of course are gonna be raising money for the Spring Grant competition that we’ll be having, as we normally do. The non-profits in the area are still being affected by COVID, we need to do our best to assist them as best we can and we’re gonna continue to do that through our Spring Grant competition.”, Wagner told WHIZ.
The event is the largest fundraiser the foundation holds throughout the year. It will be raffling off many gifts and packages.
“We’ve got a surround system, a Sony surround system. We’ve got gift certificates for the opportunity to be at Gervasi Winery up in the Canton-Akron area. We’ve got a Top Golf experience, we’ve got a Wilds experience, that will be available as well. And of course we’ll have a big shopping spree from our friends at Coconis.”, Wagner continued.
Raffle tickets can be bought on the community Foundation website and the event will be held on Tuesday, February 2nd at 5 pm.
