Paul’s Greenhouse Looks To Spring

ZANESVILLE, Ohio-The air is warming and the birds are chirping, spring is coming to Muskingum County.
Paul’s Greenhouse has been an area staple since 1948. The Paul family began their plantings for 2021 back in the middle of January to have them ready for county residents.
“I’d say most of your plants by the first of May at the latest. Especially when you get into vegetables, you don’t want those too early anyways, unless you get the cold crops which would be the lettuce and the cabbage and the broccoli and the cauliflower. Onions will be available too then,” Spokesman Marvin Paul said.
The family sells out of five greenhouses and a handful of cutrooms. They say the benefits of buying from them include local sourcing and higher quality.
“Well they know where they’re coming from. They haven’t been shipped in, they haven’t been laying around some place. We keep everything cleaned up, we disinfect everything before we start and that. Make sure we watch our planks real well, don’t wanna be passing on on any disease or insects that people will have to deal with right away,” Paul continued.
Right now Paul’s Greenhouse is looking to open in April.
