Carr Center Cake Auction To Be Held

ZANESVILLE, Ohio-The show must go on when it comes to the virtual 2021 Carr Center Cake Auction.
Contributors can register to send in cakes and other incentive items by calling or returning their registration cards that were mailed to them. The day to drop off cakes and incentive items is April 27th.
“Everything will be dropped off at Secrest Auditorium that day. Then the 28th and 29th, which is a change this year, Wednesday and Thursday auction, which gives us a little more time on Friday for pickups and things like that if need be. Be sure to have everything dropped off by the 27th, then the 28th and 29th tune in for the auction and get your bids in.”, executive director Becky Clawson told WHIZ.
The Carr Center lost a great deal of revenue by not holding the 2020 cake auction due to the COVID-19 pandemic. They look to regain that funding for their various social programs.
“We’re here filming today in the toddler enrichment program classroom. This is one of the programs that is supported by the cake auction. We serve children in our community who need help with speech therapy, and we give our toddler in this classroom a classroom experience like a pre-school. Then we give them one on one time with our speech therapists, and that couldn’t happen without the cake auction.”, Clawson continued.
More information on how to watch the cake auction can be found on the Carr Center website and Facebook page.
