ZANESVILLE, Ohio- The Maysville High School Music Department will be presenting The Wedding Singer as a musical comedy on Friday and Saturday.

Casting for the musical started back in the Fall and in person rehearsals began in January. Senior Jackson Murphy, who will be playing Robbie Hart in the musical, said it’s his last performance before graduating and feels confident for the shows.

“It’s always just been that, for lack of better word, that inspiration, because you know we always look for something where we can get away from everyday life and just go to something that is flashy and full of color, and that’s what this show is,” said Murphy

Junior Chloe Hittle will be playing Julia Sullivan. She said a lot of work and effort has been put into the musical and is looking forward to seeing all the characters come alive on stage.

“I think for me the chemistry that we get between all the people that our characters get, not because of who we are as a person, but our characters develop a cool different chemistry than the actual relationships we have,” said Hittle.

Cast members say they are looking forward to performing for an audience at the musical.
