ZANESVILLE, Ohio- A major renovation project is underway at what is now being referred to as Secrest Music hall in downtown Zanesville.

Changes have been made to the historic facility over the last couple of months with additional changes on the way Thanks to the Friends of Secrest Board of Directors, the lobby has been completely refurbished and the windows have been tinted.

“What the goal here is, is to give the public a glimpse of what we hope to turn the rest of the venue into. This building was completed, dedicated toward the end of the art deco period, and we want to capture that, make the old new again here at the Music Hall,” Friends of Secrest President Andy Leveck said.

In addition, The Music Hall received a grant from The Robert E Fellers and Leona L. Fellers Foundation Trust that will help jumpstart the progress of remodeling the bathrooms. An architecture firm agreement has also been signed to study and design additional restrooms.

“There aren’t enough restrooms in this venue right now… We want to replace all the existing fixtures with touchless fixtures. Touchless flushers on the toilets, touchless faucets, touchless hand dispensers and soap dispensers,” Leveck said.

Leveck said they want to have a lobby dedication in the future. For more information about the venue and how you can be a sponsor, you can check out its website.
