Richard M. “Inky” Emmert

Richard M. “Inky” Emmert, 82 of Zanesville, died 8:05 PM, Tuesday, May 18, 2021, at his daughter’s home, surrounded by his family.
He was born Saturday, December 3, 1938, in Zanesville, the son of Robert Emmert and Helen (Quinlan) Emmert.
He was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church, VFW Post # 1058, American Legion Post # 29, Fraternal Order of Eagles #302 and Knights of Columbus #505. He served his country in the United States Army, was owner operator of R. Emmert Printing Company and managed Terry’s Tavern for many years.
He is survived by three children: Rick Emmert of Zanesville, Margaret (Steve) Dawson of Frazeysburg, and Deanne Welsh of Dresden; five grandchildren; five great grandchildren; three brothers: Robert Emmert, Jr., Mike (Liz) Emmert and Pat Emmert, and one sister: Mary Stevens.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by one sister: Marjorie Bebe.
Friends may call from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, Saturday, May 22, 2021, at the Hillis, Combs & Nestor Funeral Home, 935 Forest Avenue, Zanesville, where funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM, with Fr. Martin Ralko officiating. Burial will conclude in the Mount Olive Cemetery Zanesville.
